How can I identify memory cards for desktop computers?

Question by don_sv_az: How can I identify memory cards for desktop computers?
My roommate left a bunch of computer components behind when he moved out. Is there somewhere online that I can look up manufacturer’s part numbers or use pictures to identify the cards. I’d like to sell them and try to get back some of the $ 200 he woes me, but I need to know what I have in order to sell them effectively.

Help With Photo Recovery off Memory Cards?

Question by : Help With Photo Recovery off Memory Cards?
I want to retrieve deleted photos off my memory card, but I do not want to pay for all those expensive softwares. Is there any free software online I can download to have this feature? I own a Mac running Snow Leopard. Thanks!

Most card erasures are pretty permanent, hard drives and diskettes generally just set the BAM to ignore entries you delete, they aren’t usually physically erased, so with appropriate software you can re-find entries that aren’t any longer indexed there and recover them if they haven’t been over-written yet. Not certian this is the case with most cards.

I have never seen one there but that does not mean they do not, just seems unlikely. Every place you go you can find a walmart. I know they have camera memory cards and they will not be far from freeways and gas stations.

If I destroy the motherboard, memory cards, etc of a computer? Does it also destroy the data in it?

Question by greenconfidence: If I destroy the motherboard, memory cards, etc of a computer? Does it also destroy the data in it?
All that would be left would be the actual parts like the hard drive and monitor. I know there are other ways of deleting information, but I want to completely get rid of the memory cards and mother board. If I were to give the computer away, could someone slip in new memory cards or a new mother board and still acess info from the computer?

If you Destroy the HDD (Hard Disk) too then you’ll probably destroy the data.

Can you use one of those sandisk memory cards to store all your games in there, instead of using cds?

Question by mambashit: Can you use one of those sandisk memory cards to store all your games in there, instead of using cds?
I just prefer having all my games in one memory card instead of carrying around cds.
I’m talkin about games such as warcraft, red alert, etc. call of duty…just regular computer games.

Can you buy memory cards for a laptop?

Question by : Can you buy memory cards for a laptop?
I’m looking at buying a laptop, but the one I like is a 1GB. Could you buy a memory card for a laptop for more storage just just buy a bigger GB laptop?

Best answer:

Answer by David Nevins
do you mean RAM (Random Access memory) 1gb is low by today’s standards 2 is minimal. Most newer lap tops you buy that are 2gb have slots to expand the RAM to 4gb. Ask these questions before you buy it. If this is an old laptop that has 1Gb or internal memory then yes you can buy external Hard drives for more data storage.
