Glitches, hiccups and burps – is what a new operating system from microsoft is all about.

Ensure that you’ve received all updates. Go to the Windows 7 page and report your issue – this OS is a Release Candidiate not the actually final release of the OS.

Is the WD VelociRaptor screw size the same as an optical drive screw?

Question by Amin: Is the WD VelociRaptor screw size the same as an optical drive screw?
Are they the same? I’m getting the 300gb velociraptor and an optical drive, and both are oem, so I need to know if I can just buy one set of screws for both drives. Also, what screw size is it?

Answer by helper999
Most drives take the same size screw. You should be able to use the same for both. The only thing that takes a different size screw is a laptop. They are all different, but desktops are usually standard.

When it comes to installing two optical drives, is there a preferred slave/master choice?

Question by powhound: When it comes to installing two optical drives, is there a preferred slave/master choice?
DVD multi and CD-RW/DVD-ROM.

Does it matter if one is slave, the other master? My thinking is that it makes no difference which is which.

Question by mike: I have 2 optical drives but only 1 of them is being recognized by the PC?
I recently bought a DVD drive but I don’t want to take off my CD-RW drive. When I installed the DVD, the computer only recognizes the DVD drive but the CD-RW is properly connected. What should I do? Both of them are on the same cable, if this helps.

Both my optical drives are working and detected by the system and appear in device manager i have tried the fix about deleting upper and lowerfilters but these files do not appear in the registry.

Sometimes this happens when there is a drive letter conflict. Right click My Computer, go to Manage and go to Disk Management. If your optical drive shows in there, try right clicking it and changing its drive letter.
