How does talking to someone with a headset on a computer work?
Question by ♀♥♂☮Trippy Hippie☮♂♥♀: How does talking to someone with a headset on a computer work?
If 2 people have headsets, how do I talk to someone that way? I mean, do I need a special messenger? Does it cost anything to get the program I need to talk to someone? Does it cost anything for each conversation?

Answer by Jimbo
It makes no difference using a headset or speakers with a mic. Whether one person has a headset and the other a speaker or mic, makes no difference. You do not need a special messenger, but you may have to run your audio wizard again indicating that you are using a headset. It is generally free to talk computer to computer. When you try to contact a land line with some of the messenger programs, or Skype, then you must pay.
Take care Jim C.

I’m surprised you cannot find any warehouses where our monitors are being manufactured and shipped to us then sold under our names.
It IS the Philippines and surrounding general area.

If you have a flash drive or some sort of external storage device, get onto a computer that has a working disc drive and install it onto your storage device with that computer. Then just dump the whole folder that downloads onto your storage device onto your computer.

What is the best AMD/Motherboard Combo Available?
Question by JD: What is the best AMD/Motherboard Combo Available?
What AMD procesor and motherboard would be the best combo money could buy? I’m lookin at server motherboards, that have like quad processors that u can put the opteron quad core or w/e and then 16 ram slots but it doesnt have like a lot on the i/o panel (usb, iee394a or w/e, lan). what is the best motherboard (two processors or more, with a lot of stuff on the i/o panel) and NO PCI-X Slots. idk what that is, ive never heard of it until i saw these server motherboards. i want at least 3 pci-e x16 and at least one pci (regular) slots. and what amd processor would be best for it. thanks

I would suggest you look around on the SuperMicro site for server type motherboards. Just be careful what kind of MEMORY is required, often, you are talking more expensive RAM for those boards. Remember also, that those motherboards are designed for business applications, not gaming…so just buying a $ 500 motherboard isn’t necessarily going to do you any better than a $ 250 standard ATX mobo. You may even find that with two separate physical processors running more RAM will actually be a slower performer than if you just had a dual or quad core on a higher end ATX mobo. I know it is tempting to the EGO to think if you build a server level computer you will have a faster, better computer, but just bear in mind…businesses and corporations generally don’t give one hoot about the quality of graphics or sound on those computers…they are for backing up and storing and serving up corporate data.
Still yet, however, you migt want to take a look at SuperMicro motherboards:

I don’t quite understand what you’re looking for…. USB hard drives only have one USB connector- you can’t share them among multiple computers directly… you’d need to make tem part of Network Attached Storage or something accessible via ethernet. USB allows many devices on a chain, but only one computer can access those devices.
Some external hard drive cases/enclosures have 2 usb cables because they need one for communication and one for power- connecting this to your computer requires 2 USB ports.
Keep in mind that unpowered USB hubs aren’t as reliable as powered ones, because with several attached devices too much power might be drawn from the computer’s system bus, resulting in lock-ups/crashes.

What is a good gaming AMD A3 motherboard?
Question by Serf: What is a good gaming AMD A3 motherboard?
I am trying to build a somewhat budget gaming computer, which is why I chose AMD, and was wondering what is a good motherboard for my build. I do not want a micro/mini motherboard just a regular ATX. Is there anything that I should be looking out for when I pick my motherboard? Like USB 3.0 or a certain manufacturer I need to stay away from? The price range is about $ 125.

Answer by O. F
A3? Do you mean AM3? Have you looked at Newegg.com? I have always favored Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI. But that doesn’t mean others aren’t good as well. If you have or plan on having USB 3 devices, then yes… get a board with USB 3.0 capability.
