How can I identify memory cards for desktop computers?

Question by don_sv_az: How can I identify memory cards for desktop computers?
My roommate left a bunch of computer components behind when he moved out. Is there somewhere online that I can look up manufacturer’s part numbers or use pictures to identify the cards. I’d like to sell them and try to get back some of the $ 200 he woes me, but I need to know what I have in order to sell them effectively.

Help With Photo Recovery off Memory Cards?

Question by : Help With Photo Recovery off Memory Cards?
I want to retrieve deleted photos off my memory card, but I do not want to pay for all those expensive softwares. Is there any free software online I can download to have this feature? I own a Mac running Snow Leopard. Thanks!

Answer by inconsolate61
Most card erasures are pretty permanent, hard drives and diskettes generally just set the BAM to ignore entries you delete, they aren’t usually physically erased, so with appropriate software you can re-find entries that aren’t any longer indexed there and recover them if they haven’t been over-written yet. Not certian this is the case with most cards.

If I destroy the motherboard, memory cards, etc of a computer? Does it also destroy the data in it?

Question by greenconfidence: If I destroy the motherboard, memory cards, etc of a computer? Does it also destroy the data in it?
All that would be left would be the actual parts like the hard drive and monitor. I know there are other ways of deleting information, but I want to completely get rid of the memory cards and mother board. If I were to give the computer away, could someone slip in new memory cards or a new mother board and still acess info from the computer?

Best answer:

Answer by AJ
If you Destroy the HDD (Hard Disk) too then you’ll probably destroy the data.
