Question by aston_martin915: What kind of memory will this desktop support?
I have an emachine T3516A and on the front of the desktop it says the memory is DDR SDRAM, but I went to crucial.com and that website said they recommend a DDR2 memory card? I didn’t think that would work. So what kind of memory would be compatible with this machine? Thanks!!

a stick of ddr ram would work go to you local staples or future shop you can pick them up for about 70 dollars cnd

Question by don_sv_az: How can I identify memory cards for desktop computers?
My roommate left a bunch of computer components behind when he moved out. Is there somewhere online that I can look up manufacturer’s part numbers or use pictures to identify the cards. I’d like to sell them and try to get back some of the $ 200 he woes me, but I need to know what I have in order to sell them effectively.

Yeah its called “google” just type the serial number or make and model number into google search and you will find what you need with a bit of reading

Check the web site of the maker of the laptop. Look up your model and all the drivers should be available there as free downloads.

Question by : Why does my desktop not read from my 4gb SD memory card?
My desktop does not recognize my 4gb SD memory card, but my laptop will. My laptop is 2 years old, my desktop is 3 years old. Do I just need to update the drivers somehow for the USB ports and SD memory card slot, or is the hardware just outdated? My desktop has no problem reading from my 2gb SD cards.

werid and your memory card works in your camera. ya update your drivers all drivers can be updated no matter the use.

Question by JASON B: I am having issues transferring pics wirelessly using an HP C309a printers memory card reader to an iMac?
I am using a Compact Flash memory card from my camera and plugging it into the memory card slot on the HP C309a printer. It says it cannot connect to the printer. I am able to print from the computer to the printer but not able to download pictures from the memory card reader back to the computer. Any idea why? Maybe it has to be connected via a printer cable and if so that is okay but I was hoping this could be done wirelessly. Help!

You’d probably need to run some HP software to make it work, assuming it can. If you haven’t already, download the massive driver package from HP’s site and install it. That should come with about fifty different little utilities. One of them should be able to do it.

Or just plug your camera into the computer with a USB cable.

Question by : Where is the memory card reader on a Gateway laptop?
I’m trying to find where to put my memory card from my phone into my laptop. There doesn’t seem to be a slot on the side, front or back. I don’t have a stick or a cord.

Dont assume there is one…might be a case that it doesnt have one

if it says it does, it will just be a slot… and look closely it will list the types of memory cards it takes

Question by tadomani: Should I buy a Mac or are there better notebooks out there?
I’m buying a laptop now. I’m not sure if i should go with a Mac or a standard notebooks. I like the Mac video editing features and the photobooth stuff and how it is not as prone to viruses as other laptops. I need one with a lot of memory, the standard applications like a writing application etc., and something that I can download applications easily on. But are Macs really hard to use? Are applications more geared towards PCs than Macs?

Macs are some of the best computers out there. They take a bit of getting used to, but once you get used to them, they are really easy to use. Applications are still geared towards Windows, but you can make any mac a dual boot, which means it can start a Mac OSX, like Leopard, or Windows, like Vista. Too bad you can’t put a Mac OSX on a non-mac computer.
